Day 17 - Tuesday - March 31

Day started off pretty rough.  We are certain Apollo had 2 seizures.  He seems to have come through and is back to himself.

Mark and I spent the morning having fun with google's 3D animal feature.

Emily was in charge of dinner and she fed us delicious rice bowls.  Yum!!

After dinner we played Bob Ross's "Happy Little Accidents".  It was a rather disappointing game.  We've decided  it's supposed to be played with copious amounts of alcohol 😝.

And Will and I found an old 70s version of Stratego.  We did not enjoy.  It will be sent off to Value Village post pandemic 😉.

Day 16 - Monday - March 30

Today I got outside and ran!!  The back held up!!  Lots to feel positive about.

Made an African peanut stew for dinner in the Instant Pot.  Everyone seemed to really like it.

Found a puzzle place with puzzles in stock:  Bits & Pieces.  Ordered myself 2!  Who knew I'd ever want puzzles!  Will be a birthday gift to myself 🙂.

Day 15 - Sunday - 29MAR20

Was a rainy, miserable day for the most part but that also ensured a very productive day indoors!

Got the grow lights set up and my first batch of seeds planted:  tomatoes, squash, lettuce.

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1d2-8rpTfw8jz9XsO3GbvA-NThs5S2aWu

Spent some time baking; peanut butter/protein powder cookies and beer bread.   Both were great but man, our grain and sugar consumption has gone sky high since we've been stuck at home!

We (Mark, Will and I) sat down in the afternoon and finally played a real game of 7 Wonders.   It is a fantastic game!!!   It won so many awards and now we know why!

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1mpo0Rru_Htznlzuap8nWSIEJHA0RF5js

While the boys cooked dinner (and I can't remember what the heck that was!) Emily and I put our raincoats on and went for a rainy walk.   On the way home, the rain stopped and the sun tried to peek out.  Suddenly, over the farmer's fields beside the marina, out popped the most clear, vibrant and full to the geound double rainbow that we have ever been so blessed to have seen!  It truly was a wonder!!

Watched the movie "Togo".  What a great story.  A tear jerker too!  Who knew there was a more heroic dog and musher than Balto?  History as recorded can be so wrong at times.

Day 14 - Saturday - 28MAR20

Saw the fattest robin I have ever seen this morning!

The day was a cruddy one.  The weather sucked and we all seemed down and/or cranky.

After dinner Will, Mark and I sat to to try to learn how to play 7 Wonders.  We just couldn't figure it out and ended up sitting in front of the TV, youtubing other people playing the game.  It was actually surprisingly simple once we figured it all out but by then it was way too late to start playing.

Played a fun trivia game on the PS4 as a fam after dinner.

Day 12 - Thursday - 26MAR20

This was the day we were to begin our travel to BC, sigh.

Not much to report.  Got in some desktime and created a grocery list.  Tomorrow Mark will once again venture out into the world and hopefully pick up enough food to last us another couple of weeks.

To help us in the food department, I've pulled out my sprouting seeds and jars.   Forgot how easy it was to grow these!

Day 11 - Wednesday - 25MAR20

Nice little walk on the farm trail with Mark, Emily and the doggies today.

Day 10 - Tuesday - 24MAY20

Spent hours getting a pile of documentation to my accountant to deal with a CRA Limited Review that popped up just prior to the COVID Crisis.

Also managed to get our Swoop flights rescheduled.  Now will be traveling to BC in October if all goes well.  Had to drop $280.00 to make the switch 😡.  That'll learn us for booking a budget airline!

Made a curious borscht recipe for dinner.  It called for GRAPE JELLY!  And, damn!  Didn't it turn out to be amazing.  Yum!!!

Day 9 - Monday - 23MAR20

Woke up to a lot of SNOW!  Yuck.

Today all non-essential businesses (mine) were mandated to close.  My operating season may be in jeopardy.  Stress!

Ate real, aka gluten-filled, pasta tonight.  It was amazing.  I love the Instant Pot for making pasta sauce!

Day 8 - Sunday - 22MAR20

Started the day with a yummy waffle and brie brunch:

Ended it with a Buddha Bowl:

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1dmWHcGr_ZX0ovAcPy7xkHIcDoic4OgrE

In between I read Helen Knott's "In My Own Moccasins" and Mark and Will went out to pick up neighbourhood garbage uncovered by the spring melt.

Day 7 - Saturday - 21MAR20

Took dogs to Ennis Beach Waterfront Park.   They sucked at social distancing so we will NOT be attempting this again.

Roasted a chicken tonight.  We haven't eaten meat much at all since December but Will is a carnivore!  I enjoyed breaking my no meat challenge.

Played JackBox late into the night.  So much fun!!   The favourite was Fakin' It.   If you've not played any JackBox games check them out!

Day 6 - Friday - 20MAR20

Beautiful morning!  +12 Celcius!   We were able to have coffee on the deck 🙂.

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1nYST_2gp2Efb7czD1nLEANtnTxZUOyXx

Received our first official lodge cancellation today due to Covid 19.   Customer email of yesterday was met very positively though!

Day 5 - Thursday - 19MAR20

We had been unable to find toilet paper on our grocery runs.  Luckily I sourced a case of 80 hospitality style, prewrapped rolls online at Staples!  They arrived today :)

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1I3eTM_A0E41u-CKmkR9BzWQ7CU6BJefw

Sent an email to all 2020 customers today.  Getting just that off my shoulders was a huge stress relief.

Scrapping/debating is finally starting to slow amongst the four of us!  Yay!

Took a great walk around the neighbourhood by myself.

Watched Avatar as a family tonight.   So thankful for the new TV!!!!!

Day 4 - Wednesday - 18MAR20

Mark has been designated our sacrificial lamb.  He did another grocery run today, this one should be good for at least 2 weeks!

Emily and I went for a nice walk up Harrington Line.   She had never been in that part of the neighbourhood before!

No pics today!

Day 3 - Tuesday - 17MAR20

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

No green beer, food or clothing here but we did create a meat free Shepherd's Pie.   We used bean crumbles and black beans for our protein.  It was surprisingly yummy!   Even the meat eater approved!

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1sGxHx2wDPsjOTyMWb6hB_tkXdfJNpnpOhttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1qVa7salfCEz7dJgCvjfckg6hXXq86_8q

Today there was a lot of arguing and debating as we struggle to get used to cohabitating as a foursome!

Day 2 - Monday - 16MAR20

Will arrived today and brought with him another load of supplies to see us through.

Occupants for the duration of the pandemic:  myself, Mark, Emily and Will.   Also the doggies:  Apollo, Max and Finn.

I always work from home so other than the house full all seems fairly normal for me.  Mark has had to set up a workspace in the exercise room.

Day 1 - Sunday - 15MAR20

Mark did our initial major grocery shop.  The little local Foodland had been hit hard.

Took dogs for a nice sunny walk.

Day 36 - Sunday - 19APR20

I believe my family is on self isolation/social distancing day 36.  Throughout this time I have been wishing I had started documenting our stay at home journey.  I have been taking photos and handwritten notes most days so I decided it'd be easy to create this little blog of our activities, our fun, our strife and really whatever comes our way during this global crisis.  I'm going to go all the way back to Day 1 and start from there!  Someday, when all is said and done, I expect I will use a blog to print type service to commemorate our time.
