Day 24 - Tuesday - April 7

And another wonderfully sunny day!

Made sauce with the last of last year's frozen tomatoes!  Looking forward to seeing what this year's garden will produce.

The tomatoes and squash are doing well.  Will need to move them into some pots soon.

I continued clean up of the veggie garden area.

Mark cleared out the jungle that was in front of the house and created this simple but oh so lovely gravel bed instead!  I love it!  Wish I had a before pic.

Day 23 - Monday - April 6

Another great weather day.  Went for a nice slow run. Noticed that the osprey have returned.  Couldn't get a decent photo though.

Explored Covid 19 financial relief and got some paperwork out of the way.

Received some tragic news.   Uncle Murray was killed in a tragic tractor accident.  So very sad.

Day 22 - Sunday - April 5

Spent some time with the chickens today.

Trounced Mark at Scrabble!

The veggies under the lights continue to grow.

Day 21 - Saturday - April 4

Lots of photos today!!!   Took all three dogs for a walk/run.  That was fun!  Planted one garden bed with cold tolerant seeds (radishes, lettuce, spinach, peas, beets and carrots).  Mark did a lot of work on the waterfront.    Will let the photos do the talking:

Day 20 - Friday - April 3

Another day without photos!

Will went to the dentist.  Turns out he has a failed root canal which has caused a serious infection.   He's been referred to a "safe" endodentist in Cobourg next week for treatment and put on some wickedly strong antibiotics.

I popped in to Paul Mac's for dog food.  My first time in a store in what seems like forever!

Made a vegetarian lasagna with gluten free noodles.  It was soooo good!!

Day 19 - Thursday - April 2

Another beauty of a day.  Planted my seed potatoes!

Watched Second City Improv show via zoom.

Found some puzzles the other day that must have belonged to Mark's mom.  Completed one!

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1_RAdJOFjYc_ygXk1OhbMvjtuZnp7Mtva

Received a much needed self-isolation Indigo order!

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1CZ54bnB-4lIrPu2hOqZKPZNDW34ENmhg

My mom sent me a pic Danny had recently taken of Mar Mac.  Looks pretty dreary in the winter doesn't it?

Day 18 - Wednesday - April 1

No photos taken today!
Great sunny day.  I went for what once would have been a super easy run.  It was soooo hard!
Will struggling with a bad tooth.  Selwyn Dental will see him April 3.

Day 17 - Tuesday - March 31

Day started off pretty rough.  We are certain Apollo had 2 seizures.  He seems to have come through and is back to himself.

Mark and I spent the morning having fun with google's 3D animal feature.

Emily was in charge of dinner and she fed us delicious rice bowls.  Yum!!

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1QlxoGlTDuV9S01tJiBr6nBoAgCh2_BwO

After dinner we played Bob Ross's "Happy Little Accidents".  It was a rather disappointing game.  We've decided  it's supposed to be played with copious amounts of alcohol 😝.

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1evOXDeEAhHZJtqjrN2ty9Wt_DvSq6ST8

And Will and I found an old 70s version of Stratego.  We did not enjoy.  It will be sent off to Value Village post pandemic 😉.

Day 16 - Monday - March 30

Today I got outside and ran!!  The back held up!!  Lots to feel positive about.

Made an African peanut stew for dinner in the Instant Pot.  Everyone seemed to really like it.

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1ZWL8Uwy4ru5_4tQv-BJyM7l-qKZMZGJm

Found a puzzle place with puzzles in stock:  Bits & Pieces.  Ordered myself 2!  Who knew I'd ever want puzzles!  Will be a birthday gift to myself 🙂.

Day 15 - Sunday - 29MAR20

Was a rainy, miserable day for the most part but that also ensured a very productive day indoors!

Got the grow lights set up and my first batch of seeds planted:  tomatoes, squash, lettuce.

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1d2-8rpTfw8jz9XsO3GbvA-NThs5S2aWu

Spent some time baking; peanut butter/protein powder cookies and beer bread.   Both were great but man, our grain and sugar consumption has gone sky high since we've been stuck at home!

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=111V0fsDZPVZMDWWT-jiM2zhyYDnZYfso

We (Mark, Will and I) sat down in the afternoon and finally played a real game of 7 Wonders.   It is a fantastic game!!!   It won so many awards and now we know why!

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1mpo0Rru_Htznlzuap8nWSIEJHA0RF5js

While the boys cooked dinner (and I can't remember what the heck that was!) Emily and I put our raincoats on and went for a rainy walk.   On the way home, the rain stopped and the sun tried to peek out.  Suddenly, over the farmer's fields beside the marina, out popped the most clear, vibrant and full to the geound double rainbow that we have ever been so blessed to have seen!  It truly was a wonder!!

Watched the movie "Togo".  What a great story.  A tear jerker too!  Who knew there was a more heroic dog and musher than Balto?  History as recorded can be so wrong at times.

Day 14 - Saturday - 28MAR20

Saw the fattest robin I have ever seen this morning!

The day was a cruddy one.  The weather sucked and we all seemed down and/or cranky.

After dinner Will, Mark and I sat to to try to learn how to play 7 Wonders.  We just couldn't figure it out and ended up sitting in front of the TV, youtubing other people playing the game.  It was actually surprisingly simple once we figured it all out but by then it was way too late to start playing.

Played a fun trivia game on the PS4 as a fam after dinner.

Day 12 - Thursday - 26MAR20

This was the day we were to begin our travel to BC, sigh.

Not much to report.  Got in some desktime and created a grocery list.  Tomorrow Mark will once again venture out into the world and hopefully pick up enough food to last us another couple of weeks.

To help us in the food department, I've pulled out my sprouting seeds and jars.   Forgot how easy it was to grow these!

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1QwlirOiVaGNk0Stmg9M0f9E8EvIy-mv3

Day 11 - Wednesday - 25MAR20

Nice little walk on the farm trail with Mark, Emily and the doggies today.

Day 10 - Tuesday - 24MAY20

Spent hours getting a pile of documentation to my accountant to deal with a CRA Limited Review that popped up just prior to the COVID Crisis.

Also managed to get our Swoop flights rescheduled.  Now will be traveling to BC in October if all goes well.  Had to drop $280.00 to make the switch 😡.  That'll learn us for booking a budget airline!

Made a curious borscht recipe for dinner.  It called for GRAPE JELLY!  And, damn!  Didn't it turn out to be amazing.  Yum!!!
